The Amazon River extends to 6565 km, has the biggest number and the most unusual flora and fauna. Stories about this river are spread all over the world and nobody can say that he really knows the river.
A great example of such story was a foundation of so-called “Cloud forest people’s” city in a middle of the Amazon forest, Peru. The city is considered to be historically famous Paititi city. The tribe that was called “white warriors” and supposedly lived in the obtained city and left very little information about themselves. A local legend says that Paititi was built by Inca’s local hero – Inkarri, who founded Cusco city before running away to the jungles when the Spanish conquerors’ came. It is known that it was a white race tribe that disappeared approximately in the XVI century because of wars and diseases.
The settlement covers about 12 ha and is situated near Jamalca region, Utcubamba province. The buildings are situated on the high peak of Pachallama and are in remarkable good condition. They are estimated to be over 1000 years they are constructed in the original round stone houses. The area of the lost city is completely covered by jungles but archeologists managed to find several wall paintings on the rocks that surround the city.
The ruins were firstly found by the locals that were surprised to hear the noise of a waterfall. A group of them took machetes and went through the jungle where they were dumbfounded by the beauty of the panorama, full of flowers and a great waterfall of 500 meters.
Initial studies showed the similarity of the Cloud people’s castle with a fortress of Culep that is another province that is situated in the same province but is older and larger than the Inca’s fortress of Machu-Picchu.
Spanish historians describe white warriors as furious fighters that mummified its soldiers. Chachapoya’s women were highly valued between Inca’s because they were tall and had fair skin. A chronographer Pedro de Leon Siesa wrote:” Cloud people are whitest and the most beautiful tribe I have ever seen, their wives are gentle and very strong at the same time”. Today this place is open for tourists, where at the depth of jungle they will have an opportunity to find a little piece of history with its tribes and wild beauty
